How to care for your Costume Jewellery.

1. Costume Jewellery should never be worn in water like a pool or at the beach. It is also advisable to remove them for even simple tasks like washing your hands or doing the dishes.

2. If you do get your Costume Jewellery wet, dry it immediately with a soft cloth, avoiding towelling of any type as it can scratch and be a little abraisive.

3. When you have finished wearing your Costume Jewellery, always wipe it over with a soft cloth or a specific jewellery cloth to remove any residue of sweat, perfumes or body oils and dirt. This will also prevent a build up of these and prevent corrosion.

4. Avoid storing your pieces in a large jewellery box and if you do, store them in separate pouches to prevent them from rubbing and scratching against each other. Keep them separated as much as possible and protected from dust, dirt and sunlight.

5. Finally the most important point to remember is to make sure your Costume Jewellery is the LAST item you put on when going out. Any perfumes, hairsprays, tans or body lotions should be applied well before you put on your jewellery. These products contain ingredients that are deadly to Costume Jewellery!
